Varma & Varma was founded in 1935. Mr. Kerala Varma Kochunniappan Thampuran and Mr. Kerala Varma Kunhappan Thampuran, our founders, were members of the erstwhile Royal Family of Kochi, Kerala. Two other partners of the firm, Mr. K. Raghavan Nair and Mr. K. R. Kaimal (member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales), who were doyens in the profession, anchored the firm in the initial years and laid the strong foundation for its growth.
Over the years, our firm has grown from being liquidators to tax specialists to a firm offering all services required for a new-age entity. We continue to maintain the high ethical values and professional standards that our profession demands.
Starting with its first office in Kochi, the firm today has 35 partners located across 9 offices spread over the states of Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Telangana, and Maharashtra. The firm engages over 600 personnel across these offices.
The various offices of the firm are closely linked to providing partner-led services, with the motto ‘Excellence and Beyond.’
The firm is empaneled with the Comptroller & Auditor General of India (CAG), the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), World Bank, Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI), NPS Trust, Audit Bureau of Circulations (ABC), Asian Development Bank, and Indian Banks Association – Forensic Audits, etc.
